Certificate in Theology Course Examinations
Although it is possible to enrol and study the units without sitting exams, successful completion of examinations is required to obtain the Certificate in Theology. We also recommend sitting exams because the discipline of revision will help you to retain the information learned in the course. Please do not be put off by the possibility of failure as it is always possible to re-enrol in the same unit and re-sit the exam in a later term .
Nominating a Supervisor
If you wish to sit exams, you will need to nominate a person to supervise you. Anyone who is not a family member, who does not live at the same address as you, and who is not currently studying in the Certificate in Theology may be your supervisor. We will supply the exam paper to that person approximately 4-6 weeks before the start of the exam period. Verify a few weeks before the exam period that your supervisor has received your exam and then arrange a mutually convenient time within the exam period to sit the exam with them. If your supervisor has not received your exam, please notify us immediately. Once you have sat your exam, your supervisor must sign the title page and return the completed exam to the Department of External Studies for marking.
