School of Theology

Our annual School of Theology is a great opportunity for graduates of the college and other interested people to hear the faculty of Moore College present papers on either topics or biblical books.

The normal pattern for the school is 8 presentations over 2 days.  In 2007 our school was titled, Freed to serve: a theological introduction to the book of Exodus. It considered exegetical and thematic issues that arise from the book.  As well, Richard Gibson offered insights on how to preach from the book of Exodus.  There is a DVD of the conference which is available from the External Studies office.

2008 School of Theology: Deliver Us from Evil

Deliver us from evil. With a revival of the notion of evil in our world what does the gospel have to say? As the postmodern world is more open to evil forces and beings at play with individual lives and in society, what kind of solution does Christ offer? As the Christian sub-culture continues to witness the re-emergence of strategies and ministries of direct dealing with the devil and his forces, is this a good thing to be welcomed, or something to be discouraged? As ordinary people struggle to live with all their fears within, and fears without, what does it mean to say, ‘deliver us from evil?’

The 2008 School of Theology will be held at Moore College on September 17th and 18th. Please download the brochure for complete details and the registration form. Early bird discounts apply for those who enrol by August 29th, 2008.
