School of Theology
Our annual School of Theology is a great opportunity for graduates of the college and other interested people to hear the faculty of Moore College present papers on either topics or biblical books. The normal pattern for the school is 8 presentations over 2 days.
2010: The Wisdom of the Cross: Exploring 1 Corinthians
1 Corinthians is often regarded as Paul's makeshift response to random problems in the Corinthian church. The 2010 School of Theology will present a more coherent reading of the letter by taking full account of its Old Testament and Jewish roots. 1 Corinthians models how to approach the complexity of Christian living with the resources of the Old Testament and the example and teaching of Jesus.
Speakers include Roy Ciampa from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, Bruce Winter from Queensland Theological College, Matthew Malcolm from Trinity College, Perth and Michael Nazir-Ali from the Oxford Centre, Kent, as well as members of the Moore College faculty.

2009: Calvin@500
Few theologians have influenced the world at large more than Calvin. The speakers for the 2009 School of Theology included Oliver Crisp (UK), Ashley Null (Berlin), Peter Adam (Ridley College, Melbourne) and John McClean (Presbyterian College, Sydney).
2008: Deliver Us From Evil
With a revival of the notion of evil in our world what does the gospel have to say? What kind of solution does Christ offer? As Christian sub-cultures develop ministries of direct dealing with the devil and his forces, is this a good thing to be welcomed, or something to be discouraged? As ordinary people struggle to live with all their fears within, and fears without, what does it mean to say, ‘deliver us from evil?’
Copies of the lectures may now be ordered on either CD, MP3 or DVD by downloading and completing the order form and returning it to the Department of External Studies.
